Nairobi has the best hospitals in Kenya. The main ones are; the Nairobi Hospital in Hurlingham, Kenyatta Hospital and the Aga Khan Hospital. There are also a number of smaller hospitals, hospices and clinics around the City.

Medical services out of Nairobi may be poor in certain areas except in the other larger towns such as; Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret and Kisumu.

There are hospitals at provincial and district level though facilities here may at times be disappointing and may not be able to cater for serious conditions.

Basic treatment is not very expensive though it is important to have medical travel insurance.
