Major international Banks with branches in Kenya include; Standard Chartered, Barclays, First American and the Dubai Bank.

Some foreign banks allow for their clients to withdraw money while in the country at local ATMs. You can inquire at your bank whether this is possible, though it attracts a very high transaction fee.

Most banks in the country operate from 9am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday; and from 9am to 12 pm on the first and last Saturday of the month.

Some banks have branches in towns around the country though transactions and services from here may be poor. Information technology in the Kenyan banking sector is a very recent application.
